c.1938 Kilgore, Bakelite G-Man Automatic Repeater Pistol in Original Box
Fantastic jet black Bakelite G-Man Automatic Repeater cap pistol complete with original box manufactured by Kilgore. Includes original, removable nickel plated cast iron ammunition clip. Luger type pistol was also produced completely in nickel plated cast iron by Kilgore in the mid-1930's. This version features a solid Bakelite frame, stock and grip. It's permanently riveted at the barrel and has a nut and screw through the frame. The Bakelite version is much more difficult to find. The ammunition clip is released by pushing the ribbed button on the back of the frame. The clip itself is nickel plated cast iron. The trigger, trigger guard, and internal components are also nickel plated cast iron. "G-Man" is embossed on both sides of the frame. Adjacent to this is the Kilgore logo. The grips are embossed with cross-hatching on both sides. The red, white, and blue box features an accurate litho drawing of the G-Man gun with the ammo clip removed. The company guarantee, logo, and the name of the toy with "BAKELITE" prominently spelled out were also included. The back panel includes directions for loading ammo plus a statement indicating that this version is "not indestructible". In fact Bakelite is easily chipped, or cracked, but not with this toy!
