c.1952 U.S. Plastic, Space Patrol Ray Gun, Factory Sealed in Original Bag
Fantastic Space Patrol Ray Gun still factory sealed in original bag complete with original header card and instruction insert. Of course in mint condition, never fired, never touched. Complete with both original rubber suction darts. Manufactured by U.S. Plastic Co., Pasadena, CA under their generic "Toy Time" brand name the set includes an original red molded plastic Space Patrol Ray Gun. White painted Space Patrol detail on the grip is 100% intact. The gun has its original black end cap firmly attached. As mentioned the set includes both original rubber tipped suction darts. The red one is a standard dart. The yellow has two slots at the base to accommodate flat exploding caps. When the dart strikes a surface it acts like a cap bomb to detonate the cap. The company called it their new "captomatic warhead missile". Inside the bag, acting as a backing card, are the original blue and white sheet of instructions. They feature a large Space Patrol moon logo at the top. The reverse side is blank. The bag is all plastic, probably polyethylene, and is original to the toy. It has its original red, white, and blue double sided header card printed simply "Space Patrol Gun". Various toys were printed as line illustrations around the card as well as its original 98¢ price. It also has a hanger hole. The card is held in place with its two original staples. Looking at them closely they've never been moved or tampered with. Size: Bag 12" x 6½". Ray gun 9¾".
