c.1948 Nomura, Fire Engine Jeep in Original Box
Neat little tin litho friction drive Jeep masquerading as a Fire Engine. Early post-war vehicle manufactured by Nomura. Comes complete with its original box. Toy looks like it was never played with. Bright red body with blue chassis and bench seat. It's marked only "Japan" on the applied label box, but on the other hand its loaded with detailed lithography. Hoses, sirens, and emergency lights cover nearly every square inch of this toy. The tin litho ladder raises and lowers. Wheels are pressed tin litho. Rear wheels also coated with rubber rim for friction. Original box has a simple print illustration applied to the cover. The box is complete. Staples have rusted which is commensurate with the age of the toy. Size: 3½". Sold: Jun. 2006
