1946 Marx, #5 Sparkling Climbing Tractor Set in Original Box
Exceptionally high grade tin litho tractor set includes a #5 silver tractor, steel scraper, driver, and 2-wheeled cart. Comes complete with original box and original instruction sheet. This particular tractor features a strong clockwork motor capable of running on smooth or rough terrain. Manual hood mounted brake switch stops or starts mechanism. This model is also characterized by embossed exhausts, removable scraper, round radiator, attached cast iron key, removable tin litho driver, plastic bogie wheels, and steel hitching loop. Original rubber treads are 1" wide. It has a red plastic hood exhaust pipe. A stream of sparks fly out of the exhaust while the tractor is moving. All functions work beautifully! The yellow and red cart has pressed tin litho wheels and a copper tow rod. The original box has two repeating 2-color printed illustrations.From the high grade condition of both the toy and box it looks like it was played with infrequently, if at all. Size: Tractor 8½".
