c.1955 Bandai, Rocket Car #54 in Original Box
Beautiful tin litho rocket racer with friction drive motor complete with original box. Manufactured by Bandai, Japan this #54 Rocket Car is in near mint condition and looks like it was almost never played with. Multi-colored and multi-detailed torpedo style vehicle with rear driven friction motor that makes a loud GRRRRR sound as it moves. Features helmeted driver, original split-front celluloid windshield, two rocket shaped red celluloid exhaust covers, sparkling motor (needs new flint), and solid rubber tires with raised polished tin hubs. "Rocket" and "54" emblazoned across the front hood. Underside is a black lithoed single plate chassis. Bandai trademark lithoed on the left rear fender. Two piece box includes applied full color print of the speeding Rocket Car on the cover with the correctly corresponding #54. Trademark and Made in Japan were printed in the lower right corner. Original tissue paper separator still inside the box. Size: 7¼". Sold: Nov. 2012
