c.1940 Marx, Turnover Tank (5th Version) in Original Box
Marx produced their very popular 8" oval tin litho tank from 1938 to 1942. The example below represents the 5th of six versions produced by the company. It's in excellent+ to near mint condition and comes complete with its original box. The distinctive features of this version includes its 1) turnover ability (several did not turnover), 2) side mounted, wedge shaped gun housings with non-sparking black cannons, 3) three large wooden wheels, and 4) specific lithography. The lithography seen only on this version includes its tan hull, the two front headlights, "Tank Corps 3" on the front, and "Turnover Tank" on top. It also has an attached cast iron key, a steel on/off switch, and a long running spring wound motor. The original box is a simple text illustrated style.
