c.1906 Lehmann, No.545 Clockwork Auto "OHO"

c.1906 Lehmann, No.545 Clockwork Auto

Spectacular example of Lehmann's popular clockwork toy Auto OHO. All lithographed tinplate and made in Germany it's in near mint condition and grades as one of best the I've seen. All original paint and parts and works great! Purchased through recent Noel Barret auction who also graded it near mint.

Representing an early "horseless carriage" the Lehmann company used OHO as a base to produce several other successful toys that included BUSTER BROWN, Aut LOLO, and ALSO. It's all tinplate, clockwork motor, original driver, and original brass finished key marked. D.R.G.M. and Lehmann.

From the collection of Athelstan and Kathleen Spilhaus, authors of "Mechanical Toys, How Old Toys Work" published by Crown Publishers, 1989.
