1926 American National Pedal Car Photo in Original Frame
Back in 1926 there were few families that could afford the toy shown in this framed photograph. It's an original hand colored photo of a boy seated inside a Pedal Car. I believe it was made by American National, but I could be wrong. It's in its original walnut veneer Ogee (oval) wooden frame with original convex oval-bubble glass! The photo shows a not-too-happy boy sitting in a "state-of-the-art" 1926 American National pedal car. It appears that he was posed in front of a window with steps leading up to it. To his right is a gigantic green and white balloon tied to a stick. The wooden ogee frame has a dark walnut veneer with two narrow rings of black paint on the most inner and outer wood surfaces. The original cardboard backing is still attached although it's missing a couple chunks. The delicate glass is a convex bubble. Both the photograph and frame are unmarked. I've included a catalog ad showing a very similar car. It sold for $14.95. Size: It's fairly large measuring 23" x 17" x 3".
