1933 Hubley 6 Wheel Stake Truck with 2pc. Body
Here's an unusual and really neat looking cast iron stake truck by Hubley. It has six white rubber wheels, but none of them are tandem. Instead it runs on three separate axles; two in the rear and one up front. And each wheel has its own red wooden hub. The vehicle is two toned; red and deep blue. It features a detachable body held in place with a wire rod clipped to the undercarriage. Produced from 1933 to 1935 the truck was one of a six piece "De Luxe" Two Color series. It's original catalog number was No. 663. In addition the series included a Sedan, Roadster, Coupe, Wrecker, and Station Wagon. The truck was stamped with its patent number on the underside of its right running board (PAT 1895968) and "4" under the left running board (along with some black grease pencil). Also a part number, 2122 is stamped on the underside of the front hood. The interior driver's side door is stamped with the numbers 5 and 2092. The passenger side interior door is stamped with 11 and 2092 (part numbers). Size: 6½" Date Sold: Feb. 2011
