1955 American Flyer, Electric Union Station in Original Box
Fantastic, unused mint in box example of the illuminated version of American Flyer's Union Station Terminal. Gilbert produced the toy for only two years. It's never been played with and is complete right down to the original paper flag. It comes in its original box with all packing material and insert, plus its original instruction sheet. This is an S-gauge toy, designed for easy assembly. It can also be disassembled just as fast. The building consists of five components, plus a metal roof, and separate flag. It's primarily hard polystyrene plastic with the exception of the flat, dark green roof which is pressed steel. The building has all 38 of its original celluloid windows in place. It also has its original reflective clock insert sticker, all wiring which has never been unfurled, both original internal globe red light bulbs, and it's American Flyer paper flag with metal post. The roof also has both of its original plastic circular handles to lift it up. I did not test the bulbs because they're as new. I guarantee that they'll work, or return and I'll replace them. The original box is double walled cardboard marked A.C. Gilbert. It's original 793 catalog number is printed and written on two panels. Also written on one end panel is "$7.99 special". The original instructions are double sided. One side suggest alternative placement positions for the tower. The other side includes assembly instructions, wiring, and placement into a layout.
