c.1935 Spirit of St. Louis & Lindy Tin Box with Crayons
Plated and polished tinplate crayon box featuring an early lithoed photo of Charles "Lindy" Lindbergh and his famous monoplane The "Spirit of St. Louis". The only other text is the word "WE" signifying that one couldn't have succeeded without the other. These are black and white images on a dark green background. Underside of the box is stamped in raised letters "Wallace Pencil Co. U.S.A.". Box edges, top and bottom, were curled and plated with gold finish. The cover is hinged in back and opens from the front. Inside cover is completely plated with gold finish. Bottom interior is all silver colored polished tin. Contains original cardboard liner and 4 unused ½" wide by 3½" long crayons. Green, blue, yellow, and brown. All 4 have 100% of their original paper wrapping with clowns and animals printed on them.
