1970 Marx "Blazers" - Die Cast Vehicles Promotional Pin
When the Marx company decided to go "head to head" in the miniature die-cast vehicle arena it was "too little, too late". The Blazer's series was initially released in small plastic bags with cardboard header cards. This was quickly followed by mounting the vehicle on a card with plastic blister pack. The entire line lasted only approximately two years. This button was made in limited quantities and released during the introduction of the Blazer's series to help promote them. It's heavy guage lithographed tinplate and shows a red Jaguar XKE in the center. Above and below the Jag are the names of the toy line and its manufacturer. Black and white checkerboards flank the Jaguar on either side. This example still has its original circular pin mounted on the reverse side. Size: 2¼" diameter. Sold: Jun. 2011
