1954 Hubley, No. 465 Buick Convertible with Movable Top in Original Box
Superb die cast metal Buick convertible with retractable, chrome pressed steel top. From Hubley's "Kiddy-Toy" line. Awesome unplayed with mint in box condition complete with original box. The box is in near mint condition. Beautifully painted brilliant lemon yellow body highlighted with silver bumpers, grille, lights, and fender holes. The pressed steel top rests on a silver painted die cast metal windshield frame. The steering wheel is incorporated into the frame, so it too is die cast. The interior is all metal and painted red. Tires are solid rubber on metal axles. Roof operates easily by sliding down under the rear trunk. A metal clip keeps it in the upright raised position. It was nicely designed so that the clip doesn't scratch the roof when it slides down. Box illustrated with two repeated drawings showing the car from overhead and the left side. The "Buick" name is not included on the box or toy. It was identified in one of my published references. Size: 7". Sold: Sep. 2005
