c.1920 Full Body Devil (Krampus) Halloween Horn (German?)
Superbly crafted, incredibly detailed full body devil Halloween (or Christmas!) horn. Unmarked, but possibly German. Made of hand painted composition material with self-collapsing paper horn and painted wooden mouthpiece. Strongly detailed with knurled horns, embossed tail, bright white eyes with jet black pupils, large wide nose and wide gaping lipped mouth. Highlighted with charcoal looking black highlights on the head and darker black paint for the beard, fur, tail and horn. The horn and mouthpiece were smoothly integrated into the composition material with the type of quality rarely seen today. The term "krampus" refers to the German Christmas tradition of good (Santa Claus) vs. evil (The Devil). Size: 11". Sold: Oct. 2005
