1932 Ohio Art, Mickey & Minnie Mouse Tea Set in Original Box
Scarce 11 piece tin litho Mickey Mouse and Minnie Mouse "Helpmates" tea set manufactured by Ohio Art complete with original box and insert. On average the entire set grades an amazing near mint-. This means that it's just a few tics from being strictly near mint, but much higher than excellent+. Regardless it's both 1) the highest grade and 2) the only intact 11 piece set with its original box I've seen. It was most likely never used. Each piece in this set includes Mickey and Minnie "doing things together". The cups also include Horace Horsecollar and Clarabelle Cow. All are copyrighted "Walt Disney". Here's the break down. Box has repetitive images from fairy tales and Mother Goose rhymes in alternating hexagonal patterns. Between them are diamond shaped pattern with different emblematic designs. Printed red. Cover edges reinforced with red, angular metal clips. Box bottom including the underside was printed with identical images (as the cover). Corners reinforced with factory paper tape. Natural color cardboard insert is raised about ½". Die cuts hold each piece firmly in place. Size: 11¾" x 10¼" x 2". Sold: Oct. 2008
