1960, Lindberg Hot Rod Electric Racers in Original Box

1960, Lindberg Hot Rod Electric Racers in Original Box

Flawless mint in box Hot Rod Electric Racers by Lindberg Products. These are a pair of unusual battery operated plastic models which required assembly. Each uses two AA batteries. Once assembled they'd race over 36 feet of clear flexible track tubing.

They're from a recent attic find and are 100% complete, with approximately 95% still attached to the sprues. They've never been assembled, even partially. The set was stored unused and unopened.

Each vehicle, a blue Ford Pick-Up and yellow Deuce Roadster is approximately 6½" long. They each have their original unused motors with wiring.

The flexible track is looped inside the bottom of the box and is still factory taped.

One of the best things about the toy is the fabulous full color box illustration. It shows the two Hot Rods crossing the finish line at the checkered flag. The audience, standing behind hay bales in the background, cheers them on. In addition it includes the original box bottom, die cut and folded insert, parts box with cover, and unused decal sheet.

Also inside is a 5" x 7" note from the manufacturer to the buyer indicating the replacement of plastic wheel instead of rubber tires as originally intended. It has it's huge original 14" x 19" double sided instruction sheet written in four different languages including English.

Size: Box 19¼" x 9" x 2¾".
