1964 Marx No 1782 Lumar Power Shovel In Original Box
Unused pressed steel toy featuring single crank, automatic lift shovel. Unusual combination of light gray and pale yellow. Complete with original box. Conservatively grades excellent+ to near mint. Toy uses a clever double boom, rod and spring controlled mechanism to simultaneously lift and lower the boom, while opening the spring released shovel floor. It does all this using a single manual crank. Cab also swivels 360°. Toy is all pressed steel with rubber treads and wheels. Marked with Lumar Contractors decals on both cab sides plus a large yellow and black caution decal in the back. Original box includes detailed cover illustration featuring Marx' "new" Magic Marxie logo. The logo plus absence of a zip code in the address dates the toy to early 1964.
