1935 Wyandotte, No.357 Streamlined LaSalle Sedan in Original Box

1935 Wyandotte, No.357 Streamlined LaSalle Sedan in Original Box

Classic art deco streamlined LaSalle sedan manufactured by Wyandotte from 1935 - 1939. Pressed steel with baked red enamel finish, chrome plated accessories, and original white rubber tires. Comes complete with original box.

Beautifully designed, the LaSalle sedan is one of the most recognized pressed steel toy vehicles. In addition to the original box, it's difficult to find an example with all four original white rubber tires. Storage temperature and age always affects the condition of the tires.

The chromed front bumper, grille, and streaming headlamps are not an assembly, but are individual components. The rear bumper is also chromed. The axles have a second metal rod attached to them to prevent the tires from shifting sides.

This vehicle was manufactured in several colors and variations. It was also sold with a streamlined trailer and a wind-up clockwork version was produced. Typically the underside of the trailer version is sealed with a steel plate.

The original box features an accurately detailed illustration of the Sedan on all four main panels. The name of the toy, Wyandotte's slogan, name and address are printed around the illustration. The endflaps are all text and include the company catalog number 357.

Size: 15" x 4" tall x 5" wide.
