1956 Yoshiya, Wind-Up Motor Space Dog in Original Box
Very scarce silver wind-up version of this popular space toy. In superb near mint condition with all actions working beautifully! Comes complete with its awesome full color illustrated box. The red version of this toy is more commonly and is usually powered with a friction motor. Once he's wound up this embossed tin litho critter is activated by pulling up on his head antenna. The ears wiggle up and down while simultaneously the lower jaw opens and closes. This movement cause his bubble eyes to roll around in circles. All the while red tinted sparks fly through his body. Everything works on this toy; ears, jaw, motor and wheels, and the awesome sparks. It's fantastic to watch. All parts are original. Only the flint was replaced. The original box shows a wide lunar landscape with astronauts confronting the giant space dog. In the background saucers and rockets fly by. The side flaps have a different, but smaller illustration of the dog. It also comes with its original cardboard insert. Size: 6" long and 4¾" tall. Sold: Jun. 2005
