c.1951 Marx, Mechanical Gobbling Goose in Original Box
Neat little, spring motor driven mechanical goose (that lays the golden eggs) complete with original box and two "eggs".. All soft plastic (polyethylene) construction which was frequently used by the Marx Company during the early 50's. Even the feet are plastic, however the legs are painted pressed steel. The neck is hinged which makes the head move in the opposite direction of the body and more lifelike. The eyes and bill are painted. Comes with two of its original wooden "golden" eggs. They're inserted into a hole on the goose's lower back. As the goose bends it drops the eggs one-by-one through a hole (located where you'd expect an egg to come from). Original box is a simple text type with matching orange print. Size: 8#" long, 5½" with neck upright.
