c.1930 Marx, Press Lever Top Set in Original BoxÂ
Early Marx toy consisting of two steel litho spinning spheres and a hand held, spring loaded lever motor. Once it starts spinning a syringe type plunger releases the sphere from the motor. It comes complete in the original box with insert. The first sphere is lithoed as planet earth. The second has two different graphics; one on each side. They both show a woman's face circa. 1930 with period hair styling and a red ribbon bow. One side she's happy and grinning. The other looks contentious and angry. The metal "stems" on the spheres fit into a socket located on the motor. Press, and they spin. Release the syringe and they drop. Each sphere has two holes which allow it to make a whistling sound when they spin. The original color illustrated box shows several 1930's kids at play. The instructions are included on the side. Size: 7" long box. Spheres 2" diameter. Sold: Sep. 2005
