1967 Bandai, Volkswagen & Porsche Set In Original Box
Unusual tin litho battery operated combination set by Bandai, Japan. Includes Porsche 911 Coupe and Volkswagen Convertible. Each uses a single remote controlled motor which is interchangeable between the two vehicles. Also includes original display box with sealed die cut window and die cut insert. Gorgeous set easily grades near mint+; appears to have never been used. Volkswagen Porsche 911 Embossed tin litho 2-door coupe accurately reflects the sleek Porsche design. Creme color body with black chassis and front and rear red striped bench seats. Blue tin litho dashboard with white plastic steering wheel. Chrome plated components include front and rear windshield frames, front and rear wrap around bumpers, hood emblem, head lights, and trunk mounted engine vent. Windshields are blue tinted plastic. Rear license plate marked "1967", Tires are solid black rubber with tin litho embossed caps. Like the VW it has an underside chassis chamber which locks in the interchangeable motor for movement in any direction. Embossed "Porsche" on chassis. Box features illustration of happy kid along side the VW and Porsche with controller in hand. Front apron shows schematic instructions for using box cover as a window display by removing the cover paper. It's never been used. The actual celluloid window is complete and in place on the underside of the cover. Rear apron illustrates motor change between vehicles. Side aprons printed with ad text and controller. Chrome plated components include windshield frame with smoker windows, VW emblem hood divider, head lights, and front and rear bumpers. Windshield is blue tinted plastic. Rear license plate marked 1967. Tires are solid black rubber with VW embossed/lithoed caps. Underside chassis chamber locks in interchangeable motor; moves forward, reverse, and steering in any direction. Embossed "Volkswagen" and "Made in Japan" on chassis.
