c.1948 Gong Bell Mfg., Grocery Shopping Cart
Unusual three dimensional child's size grocery shopping cart manufactured by Gong Bell. Features strong color graphics showing many early post-war packaged products including Coca-Cola, Jolly Time Pop-Corn, Kleenex Tissues and lots more. Cart section made of chromolithographed paper on pressed wood. Legs are chrome plated steel reinforced with red painted wooden dowel and steel axles. Wheels are painted pressed steel. Each wheel has enclosed bell compartments that ring as they turn. Cart sides are riveted together with metal brackets. Handle is silver painted pressed steel. Gong Bell logo is located on a metallic sticker placed in the center of each wheel. Size: 20" x 15" x 8½" Sold: Aug. 2010
