c.1985 Edison, Montecarlo 12 Gauge Double Barrel Shotgun Cap Rifle in Original Box
"Great Like Daddy's!" That's what's printed on the front outer sleeve for this very accurate looking 12 gauge double barrel shotgun cap rifle. This is definitely not the type and age toy I usually sell. Manufactured by Edison Giocattoli, Italy it comes broken down into its two separate parts. They even supply the screw driver to put it together. The "wooden" stock and frame are grained to look and feel just like wood, but they're really a heavy duty type of plastic. A heavy gauge metal was used for the scrolled framework which was then "antiqued" to make it look real. The barrels are tube steel along with the trigger and trigger guard. Once its assembled it measures just over 33" long. The set also includes a genuine leather cartridge belt and a separate leather rifle sling. Six empty shells are also provided. The only thing that the company doesn't include are the special 12 gauge caliber caps. Just to make it all complete also included is an original card-back from the company with 24 caps and two additional shells. It also has an orange barrel plug to comply with ebay regulations. The whole set comes packed in a red flocked thermoformed mold which fit the components precisely. The box which look like wood even close up is double walled, laminated glossy cardboard. The hinged cover lifts raises and lowers just like a real wooden carrying case. It also has its original color photograph outer sleeve which fits over the case to keep it closed. Directions for assembly and use are printed on the bottom of the box. The "toy" has never been used. Size: Rifle 33". Box 23" 13" x 2". Sold: Dec. 2006
