c.1959 Ideal Toys, 24 Precision Miniatures in Original Display Box
Original dealer display window box of 24 factory painted, plastic Precision Miniature Models manufactured by the Ideal Toy Corporation. This series includes Sports Cars, Old Fashioned Cars, Boats For Work and Play, and Historical Ships. Consists of six thick interlocking cardboard shelves which form individual compartments. Two miniatures are contained within each compartment. Each miniature is identified with printed labels. The entire display was then covered by a large clear plastic bubble. It was framed around a large gold cardboard backing and held in place with brass fasteners. The original dealer display instructions are printed on the reverse side. The display is permanently assembled and will not come apart. Each model was accurately depicted with the finest details. Even the tiniest elements were painted to make them appear more realistic. The models were then permanently glued to the cardboard shelving. Sailing ships were also rigged with black thread. The underside of each shelf was printed with other models from the series.
