c.1950 Masudaya, Clockwork Railway Electric Train in Original Box
This superb little clockwork Railway Electric Train by Masudaya, Japan, has never been played with. It comes complete with its original box and four miniature track sections. The tracks are still string tied together with hemp cord from the factory. Measuring only 4" long this colorful little electric style tin litho train is powered by an intricate clockwork motor. It's unusually colored in bright blue, red, yellow, white and pink. Child-like illustrations of birds decorate the roof. On either side of the car is a single large bird with wings outstretched carrying a sign numbered "B352" in its beak. The toy has embossed windows and doors, chrome plated railings, and brass plated metal wheels. The two electric supports on the roof are lithoed pink. The key is attached. The toy fits into a die cut insert which is fixed to the bottom of the box. Four sections of chrome plated miniature track fit snugly above the insert so they won't scratch the train. Original factory hemp cords are tied around each end. The box has a simple three color, perspective, panel wide illustration on the cover. It shows the Railway Electric Train with its name and manufacturer's logo just above it. The exterior of the box bottom is an unusual red color (not printed or laminated). Size: 4". Sold: Oct. 2006
