c.1961 Cox, Thimble-Drome #900 Prop-Rod #8 Racer in Original Box
Sleek, immaculate gas engine powered hot rod from Cox. Named the Thimble-Drome Prop Rod for the large rear airplane propeller. This beautiful automobile is in near mint to mint condition and is complete with its original box. Admittedly, I don't know much about gas powered racers, but when I saw this incredible vehicle I "had to have it". Looks like it was never used. Composed of two halves. The upper is plastic. The lower is die cast metal. It has both of its original #8 stickers. The engine looks to be a combination of aluminum and brass. The propeller is plastic. The tires are solid rubber on aluminum hubs. The colorful box shows a nearly full size illustration of the racer. A happy young lad in the upper left corner looks on. The side panels show the speeding race in action. Size: 12". Sold: Jun. 2005
