1950 AMT Studebaker Commander in Original Box
Gorgeous jet black, two door "Studebaker Commander" promotional vehicle manufactured by AMT. Comes complete with original box. Purchased from the original family who acquired it after test driving the vehicle 62 years ago. Body is molded black plastic with pressed steel chassis and solid rubber tires. All of its original celluloid windows are in place and in incredible condition. Front and rear wrap around bumpers are chrome plated steel. The wheel covers are also chrome plated steel. The headlights are painted. Of course its most obvious characteristic is the fantastic bullet-nose grille. This piece is also plated steel embossed with the Studebaker logo. Original box was printed with a very nice illustration of the auto, as well as the model name, and AMT's quality statement. You can still make out its original stamped color on one of the endflaps, "Velvet Black" which correctly corresponds to this car. Size: 8". Sold: Oct. 2012
