1915 Panama Pacific Exposition Souvenir Puzzle in Original Envelope
This was one of the many souvenirs produced for the Pan-Pacific Exposition of 1915. Held in San Francisco it celebrated the opening of the Panama Canal. This is a mixed-up letter puzzle with an illustration of a steamer etched into a multi-slotted sheet of chrome plated steel. The objective is using two vertical and two horizontal slots to arrange 12 grooved, steel discs in the correct order to horizontally spell "The PANAMACANAL. T-H-E is all on a single disc. It comes complete with its original envelope which has the solution to the puzzle printed on it. Manufactured by the Ross Ettinger Co., Philadelphia, PA. Size: 4" x 1½". Sold: Feb. 2006
