1946-1952 (3) S Gauge American Flyer New Haven Cars with Original Boxes
Here's three S-gauge American Flyer, New Haven cars in their original boxes. Each is molded from red plastic and highlighted with white details. They have link type couplers with black chassis and wheels. The bodies and chassis on all three haven't any cracks, chips, or deformation. The blue and yellow illustrated boxes are identical. The original identification stamp can still be read on one endflap of one box as C56-R Red Coach. #1 No.650 Coach Car (1st photo, top) with electric lighted interior and translucent windows. Wheels are a combination of die cast metal on one side and plastic with rubber(?) rims on the other. Grades excellent with several roof rubs and hairlines about 2" long. Probably acquired while inside the box. Windows are complete and intact without any cracks. White highlighting is 99% complete. Couplers and wheels are also complete and intact although hardened from age. #2 No 651 Baggage Car -(1st photo, center) Railway Express Agency- non-lighted interior with 4 small translucent windows. Wheels are all identical, they're either all plastic or all rubber it's difficult to tell. Grades excellent+ with just a trace of roof rubbing from moving inside the box. Windows are all intact. Wheels show just a hint of rim wear. Couplers are complete and intact although hardened from age. White highlighting is 100% intact. It has no central lighting unit, but it appears that it was manufactured that way. The underside holes show no screw marks which would've held an electric light base. #3 No. 650 Coach Car (1st photo, bottom) identical in structure to #1 above. The only difference is that it grades in much higher condition; excellent+ to near mint with just a faint trace of roof rub. White highlighting is 100% intact. Still has original lighting unit. Windows are complete and intact without any cracks. Couplers and wheels are intact although hardened from age. Size: 11" Date Sold: Feb. 2011
