1964 Buddy L Station Wagon & Camping Trailer in Original Box
Awesome two piece camping set from Buddy L; includes a (Plymouth) Suburban Station Wagon and a TeePee Pop-Up Camping Trailer. Both in "Robin's Egg-Blue". Recent attic find, never used or played with. Complete with original box and insert. Very conservatively graded as near mint to near mint+. The Suburban Wagon has an embossed, all-steel body, plastic interior, and solid vinyl tires. It has chrome wrap around bumpers, one-piece grille, round taillights, ball trailer hitch, spring suspension on both axles, and ribbed double-ring white wall wheel covers. Transparent plastic windows are in place on the front windshield, smoker windows, and rear-side windows. "Buddy L" is embossed in raised letters on the tailgate and both front quarter panels. The tailgate has never been folded down. The TeePee Trailer features a white plastic folding tent with a cushioned fold out bed and two pillows. It easily folds down flat or pops into the tent position. The streamlined roof is embossed "Buddy L TeePee Trailer". The body is pressed steel and it has a drop down "parking" hitch which allows it to remain level without being attached to the Wagon. It has its original multicolor teepee and Indian decals with Buddy L TeePee Camper logo. Two of the box panels were printed with images of the Station Wagon and Camping Trailer along with a 3-step schematic showing operation of the camper. A third panel has the Buddy L logo and address. The fourth is covered with brown factory paper. The endflaps show smaller images of the Wagon and Trailer. It also comes with it's original insert. It's a complex piece with seven die cut holes that are necessary to hold both vehicles securely. This set is another item from a collection of toys I recently purchased from the estate of an elderly Indiana couple. Apparently they had bought and stored many toys for their grandchildren to play with while visiting. And, just like this set, once stored it was never taken out of the attic. Size: 24½" connected. Suburban Wagon 15", Trailer 9½". Sold: Sep. 2010
