c.1947 Product Miniature Co., International Harvester Truck in Original Box
Extraordinary example of the first year of issue of International Harvester's Pick-Up promotional truck manufactured by Product Miniature Company, Milwaukee, WI. Never used or played with it comes complete with its complimentary high grade original box. Classic vintage pick-up molded in brilliant orange with plated metal accessories, solid rubber tires, red hubs with metal centers. Toy includes pleated bench seat interior, separate steering wheel, and authentic IH door decals. The entire chassis section was also accurately rendered. An early soft plastic type was used to mold the body and, so over time, it will unavoidably develop some degree of warping. In fact it's characteristic for the toy. Fortunately this example has very little deformation. It was produced from 1947 through 1949. The gray, red, and white box was printed with an accurate side portrait of the pick-up drawn almost to scale with the actual toy. This appears on two panels. The other two panels include the model name, manufacturer name, and address. The model type was also printed on the endflaps. An 1950-52 yellow version was also produced. Size: 9½". Sold: Apr. 2007
