1963 Marx, Deluxe Arcade Model Pinball Game in Original Box
Flawless example of one of the largest hand held pinball toys manufactured by Marx. This Deluxe Arcade Model measures 2 feet in length. The size alone is responsible for most of the damage that the toy normally incurs. The clear polystyrene cover scratches and scuffs easily, while the tin litho playing surface will show every dent, ding, and scuff (caused by the single flipper). The toy comes complete with its original table support rod taped to the back side. Even more important it includes the little "T-shaped" plug which secures the marbles in their storage slot. The original tape is still covering the "T". All parts to the flipper and flipper arm are in place, as well as the plunger. The playing surface includes a patent number granted in 1953. This refers to the actual mechanism and theory behind the game and does not represent the date of its manufacture. The logo style and absence of a zip code dates the toy to 1963. The toy comes with its original printed illustrated box. The inserts and original tissue paper is also included. The box has a simple early 60's design with large circular spots representing marbles. A large drawing of the Marx Toys "new" Magic Marxie logo was printed in the upper left corner. It looks the box was opened to check the contents. Three of the four original factory staples were removed. Size: 29" x 13" x 1½". Sold: Aug. 2008
